WASHINGTON, Aug. 14, 2006 – The first city to join the Defense Department’s “America Supports You” program is preparing to host a Freedom Walk on the fifth anniversary of the Sept. 11, 2001, terrorist attacks on the United States. “The walk itself is not what we’re focusing on, as much as just getting people out to participate,” Enid, Okla., Mayor Ernie Currier said during a telephone interview with American Forces Press Service. WASHINGTON, March 28, 2005 – Officials in Enid, Okla., are planning a citywide rally March 31 to kick off the city’s partnership with the Defense Department’s “America Supports You” program.
